Scalloped Potatoes/Potato Gratin/Potato Dauphinoise/Potato Bake


4 waxy potatoes,thinly sliced: Maris Piper, Desiree……, 1 onion, finely sliced: , 1.5 cups cream & milk: , 1 clove crushed garlic & fresh thyme & bay leaves: , *1/2 cup grated cheddar:


1Preheat the oven to 180°C. warm 1.5 cups cream & milk add the garlic & thyme & bay leaves : bring to a simmer season:salt & pepper & nutme discad the herbs

2In an ovenproof dish : grease Arrange a layer of overlapping potato slices top with a layer of onions Add some salt & black pepper repeat finishing with a layer of potatoes.

3Pour the sauce over the potatoes just below the top layer of potatoe (sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese) Bake for 40 minutes: golden brown.
